Topic: An Autopsy of "Job Acceptance Gone Wrong" - How Can Candidates Better Vet Prospective Employers Before Accepting the Offer?

he job market has been red hot for HR leaders this past year.  Expect it to continue into 2023 especially since the value of HR has been escalated as CEOs, CFOs and senior teams have realized the important of the perspective of the ‘people experts’ in driving business results.  In light of the increased job movement this year, I’ve had more conversations with HR leaders who made the move to a new role / employer and pretty quickly realize…. “I was sold a bill of goods”.  They walked into something very different than the picture painted by the Executive Recruiter and hiring leaders.  So many ask – “How did this happen?  What could I have done differently to have sense this disconnect between what I was told and reality?”

We’ll discuss lessons learned from HR leaders who have experienced this scenario.  We’ll discuss an approach to ‘due diligence’ to mitigate the risks of making bad decisions in your job search process.
