Navigating Career Transition: Creating a Process That Actually Helps with Holly DePalma

SUMMARY

Being in transition is hard, especially in HR where we’re usually the ones supporting everyone else. This session focuses on creating structure during an unstructured time, starting with getting clear on your strengths, interests, and career stage. We’ll cover practical ways to stay relevant, how to approach networking in a genuine way, and how to think beyond salary when evaluating opportunities. The goal is to help you make more confident decisions and see the value in every step along the way.

KEY OBJECTIVES

  • Develop a structured career transition strategy aligned with individual strengths, career stage, and goals to better position for roles that support business outcomes.
  • Identify practical ways to continue learning and build leadership skills, including using emerging tools and technologies to stay relevant and add value.
  • Apply effective networking and decision-making strategies to evaluate opportunities beyond compensation, focusing on impact, growth, and long-term career direction.

SPEAKER

Holly DePalma has spent more than 20 years in HR leadership roles across healthcare, higher education, and tech startups, working with organizations ranging from complex institutions to fast-moving, early-stage companies. Throughout her career, she has been driven by both the impact she could make and a sense that there was something more.

That “something more” led her to the work she does today, partnering directly with leaders to build stronger, more aligned, and more effective teams.

As a Predictive Index consultant, Holly works closely with CEOs and leadership teams to improve hiring, strengthen leadership, and create cultures where people can truly thrive. She brings a strategic perspective along with a practical, roll-up-your-sleeves approach shaped by years of firsthand experience in HR.

Holly has seen how the right people strategy can transform a business, and how the wrong one can hold it back. That perspective informs how she shows up with clients: honest, thoughtful, and focused on what will make a meaningful difference.

She is especially energized by leaders who are committed to growing their people and building organizations that are both successful and meaningful places to work.
